The Event!

So, I promised some pictures from our local event to raise money for JDRF.  We ended up raising a total of $2,876!  Quite an amazing feat for our small town!  Huge thanks to everyone who donated and came to participate in our small town fund riser!

Walk 1

Here we have everyone getting signed in and ready to run…. or walk!  Our school principal, Mrs. Wade is here on the left.  She has such a huge heart for all her elementary kids!

Some of the first ones to finish!  Sure didn’t take some of these kids long to run a mile!

We had a health care worker come to check blood sugars for us!  Once the participants returned, several of them had their blood sugar checked.  Some of the kids decided that having your finger stuck wasn’t fun.  I think it really opened some eyes to what a person with Type 1 Diabetes has to go through every day, multiple times a day, just to stay healthy.  Autumn decided that she didn’t want to go get her blood sugar checked with everyone since she has already had her blood sugar checked a few times already that day.

Thanks for visiting my blog!  Please check back soon for more stories and some T1D organizational info!
